Dream Holiday Red Bag Campaign (October 19–26)

The barrels are packed and ready to be shipped to Liberia! Everyone at the African Dream Academy Foundation is grateful to all of those who helped to make this year’s Red Bag Campaign possible. Thank you for choosing to make this holiday season a little brighter for the students at the African Dream Academy!

Three Churches (Brick Church, NYC;  First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell, NJ; and Morris Plains Presbyterian Church, NJ) and ten schools (Brick Church School, Convent of the Sacred Heart, First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell Nursery School, First Presbyterian Church NYC Nursery School, Nightingale-Bamford School, Park Children’s Day School, Purple Circle Early Childhood Program, Temple Israel Early Childhood Learning Center, and Temple Shaaray Tefila Nursery School  participated in the Dream Holiday Red Bag Campaign.  The goal was to send all of the 1500 students at African Dream Academy a red bag full of school supplies, toiletries and some fun gifts.  Each red bag had a student’s name, gender, age and grade on it.  The American children who participated had the joy of knowing they were sending a gift to a specific student at African Dream Academy.  We also had an Amazon gift list for folks who preferred to shop online and Brick teachers helped us to fill red bags with those supplies.  We then packed the red bags into barrels and the shipper picked up 35 barrels filled with red bags for the students, gifts for the teachers, school supplies, text books and other books.  They will be shipped to Liberia and we hope they will arrive in time for the holidays.
